Fourways is our busiest centre and treats the largest share of our patients. It is in Cedar Tree Medical Centre, across Cedar Road from Life Fourways Hospital, and serves northern Johannesburg, Pretoria and patients who travel from the rest of Gauteng, neighbouring provinces and neighbouring countries.
Your consultation, duplex ultrasound scan and any treatment all happen here, with Dr Johan Blignaut, nursing sisters and sclerotherapists Sr Robyn Gilfillan and Sr Linsay Miller, and Wesley Mclaghlan at reception.
Finding us at Cedar Tree Medical Centre
Cedar Tree Medical Centre is on Stinkwood Close, across Cedar Road from Life Fourways Hospital, close to the William Nicol and Cedar Road corridor. We are in Suite 7, Block B, on the ground floor, so there are no stairs to climb, which matters after a procedure. Parking is free on site.
Procedure days in Fourways
The centre is open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00. Procedures are done on Wednesdays and Thursdays, in our three office operating rooms, under local anaesthetic. You walk out afterwards.
The procedures we do here are radiofrequency ablation, medical adhesive (glue) closure and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. Cosmetic sclerotherapy for spider veins is done by Sr Robyn Gilfillan and Sr Linsay Miller. We also manage venous leg ulcers: ulcer patients are usually seen in the same week.

Before your first visit
A first visit takes about 30 minutes: Dr Blignaut examines your legs, scans both legs with duplex ultrasound and explains which treatment suits you. Bring your medical scheme details and any previous scan reports or operation notes. Not sure you need to be seen? Start with the free online vein screening and choose Fourways as your centre. More about your first visit.
Accounts for the Fourways centre are issued by Dr Johan Blignaut Inc (practice number PR 1175521). We submit medical scheme authorisation for you; how schemes pay is explained on our fees and medical aid page.
